Anise solidifies (or freezes) at 59°F; this is a criterion value of anise. During colder months the anise may become solid during shipping. Do not be alarmed, this is actually a normal occurrence. In other words, if crystallization has occurred, it is your assurance of good quality anise. If the anise has crystallized, warm the anise oil until it is liquified and shake.
