Beautifully designed, this Dutch oven is great for slow cooking foods without scorching. The Dutch oven can also be used to sauté, sear, fry, bake, and stir fry foods. The cast iron Dutch oven is pre-seasoned and ready-to-use, without needing to specially prepare it before use by baking oil into the surface. Cast iron cookware cooks evenly and retains heat. Compatible with most heat sources, including induction, and ceramic top ranges; oven safe to 500ºF, and can also be used in the oven, under the broiler, or on the grill, the Dutch oven is rust resistant and stick resistant for easy cleanup.  The lid features an innovative easy-grip handle, inside condensation bumps for self-basting, and an inner lip for a snug fit.

    It looks a little rough, and it is; brass wool for cleaning is a good choice. So are those little nylon pre-surgical brushes if you find yourself soaking stuck-on pork shoulder out of it.

    The lid fit is excellent; there's an inner lip, so steam escape is minimal, and the inside of the lid has a pattern of condensation dots. Food in this dutch oven stays moist. The four-footed handle for the lid supports being grabbed from any direction.

    It's a good thickness, and very even; I suspect centrifugal casting. Lid and pot match, so the heat retention's good and you get some re-radiant food browning. Just the right size to saute one large onion, roast a pork shoulder, or bake five pounds of sliced potatoes.
