The multi cooker is great for preparing stocks and soups, boiling water for pasta or cooking lobster, and cooking large batches of chili or chowder. With the pasta colander insert, when the pasta is cooked, simply remove the insert to drain the pasta, leaving the boiling water behind in the pot, ready to be used again. A steamer basket also fits inside the pot for steaming vegetables while other foods are cooking below.
